The theme

Which stores is ÉLAN made for?

Fashion, fine jewelry, beauty and concept stores that lead with photography. It works for any catalog: the presets are starting points, not limits.

Can I use more than one preset?

Each copy of the theme starts from one preset. You can add the theme again with another preset as a separate copy, or recreate any preset by hand. See Working with presets.

Does ÉLAN work without apps?

Yes. Every theme feature works without an app. Filters and complementary recommendations use Shopify’s free Search & Discovery app.

How many products can a collection page show?

Up to 48 per page, with pagination.

Customizing

Can I use my own fonts?

The Theme Store requires fonts from Shopify’s font library, and the font pickers in Typography include hundreds of families. Uploading your own font files needs code changes, which theme support doesn’t cover.

Can I change the theme’s code?

Yes, but code edits aren’t covered by theme support, and they don’t carry over when you update the theme. Always duplicate the theme first (Online Store → Themes → ⋯ → Duplicate) and edit the copy. For custom work, hire a Shopify Partner through the Shopify Partner Directory.

Can I add a section that ÉLAN doesn’t have?

Use the Custom Liquid section for small additions, or an app that provides app blocks. Larger custom sections need a developer.

Selling

Does ÉLAN support multiple languages and currencies?

Yes. Set them up in Settings → Markets and Settings → Languages. The country and language selectors appear automatically. Prices use Shopify’s currency formatting.

Can I sell subscriptions?

Yes, with a subscription app such as Shopify Subscriptions. The plan selector appears as an app block on the product page, and the chosen plan shows in the cart.

Where do customers enter discount codes?

At checkout. Automatic discounts show in the cart.

Does ÉLAN support gift cards?

Yes. Create a gift card product in Products → Gift cards. Customers can send it to someone on a chosen date, and the gift card page shows the code, a QR code and an Add to Apple Wallet link.

Quality

Is the theme accessible?

ÉLAN is built to WCAG 2.1 AA:

• visible focus and keyboard access to every control
• labelled form fields and announced errors
• text contrast checked in every preset
• reduced-motion preferences respected

Your own images, alt text and color choices also affect accessibility. Add alt text to images in Content → Files or the image picker.

Will ÉLAN slow my store down?

ÉLAN is built with plain Liquid, CSS and a small amount of JavaScript, with no framework, and it loads images at the size each screen needs. Apps and large videos add their own weight, so check your store’s speed after installing apps.

How do I get help?

Use the contact form. We reply within two business days. See the support policy for what’s covered.

Do you need access to my store?

Sometimes. If we need to look at your store, we’ll ask by email for collaborator access. You choose whether to grant it, and you can remove it at any time. Never send passwords or codes in the form.
